Vision | Mission | Values | Values in Action
In 1907, one courageous woman, Louisa Fawkner, gathered together a band of volunteers to establish the Catholic Braille Writers Association.
Today that organisation is known as Villa Maria. As the needs of those in our community have changed, so have our services, moving away from specialist services for people who are blind to offering a wide range of services for older people and people with a disability.
The Villa Maria of 2007 is a large, unique and wonderful organisation. More than 950 staff and 350 volunteers work to deliver 60 programs in 40 locations throughout Victoria.
The services Villa Maria provides include:
- Disability Services including early intervention, education, supported shared accommodation, day programs for adults and children as well as independent living support programs in the community and the home;
- Residential Aged Care services that include four high care facilities and one low care hostel; and
- Community Services that range from rehabilitation services to in-home support, day programs, carer and respite support services.
Villa Maria is always looking to offer programs that meet gaps in aged care and disability services.
