Villa Maria Disability Services and Aged Care

care without boundaries...

Aged & Community Services

The work of Aged Care and Community Services at Villa Maria exemplifies the 'care without boundaries' philosophy. Villa Maria not only provides facility-based care but also provides an extensive range of services through programs that support older people in their own homes and in the community.

Villa Maria's Residential Aged Care facilities include hostels and nursing homes that support almost 300 residents at Berwick, Bundoora, Prahran and Wantirna South.

The community service programs are flexible and work with families and individuals to provide the supports that are required to best meet their needs. Programs include Carer Services, Respite, Assistance with Care and Housing for the Aged, Community Aged Care Packages and Extended Aged Care at Home.

Carinya Dementia Services cater for the special needs of people with dementia in a home-like environment, through the provision of activities and programs that are flexible and responsive to individual's needs. White Road, an activity and social support centre, caters for the social needs of older people and people with a disability. Avebury House program supports working carers by providing planned, and out and about activities for the person they care for who is frail aged and or has dementia. Avebury House operates seven days a week.

The Wantirna Community Rehabilitation Centre assists older people and people with a disability with a wide range of allied health services such as physiotherapy and podiatry.

Villa Maria is fortunate to provide a Social Work service to all clients and their families. In addition to this, a Pastoral Care service is also available.
