Disability Support

What is Disability Support?

Disability support provides assistance to people with a disability, their families and / or their carers, allowing them to live as independently as possible within their community.

What Disability Support services are there?

Villa Maria provides a very broad range of services for people with a disability.

For Children...

St. Paul's College offers My Future, My Choice Project for children with disabilities aged 0 - 6 years as well as an educational program for children with disabilities aged from 5 to 18 years. Disability respite is an area within Villa Maria where the commitment to "care without boundaries" is paramount. Respite services allow families of children with disabilities time to relax.

For Adults...

Programs for adults with a disability not only focus on older people but also include our community residential, White Road and Gateway programs. Villa Maria also has eleven Community Residential Units that provide shared accommodation, community inclusion and independence for younger persons with physical and or intellectual disabilities. HomeFirst and Ageing With a Disability are flexible support programs that assist people with a disability in a wide variety of ways. The range of services include in home and community care.

For Carers...

Carer Services offers respite and support for parents and carers of people with a disability of all ages, ranging from preschool children to ageing adults.

Where current programs are not able to meet individual needs, 'care without boundaries' means Villa Maria is active in the development of innovative services responses. This includes services that seek to address needs that fall outside current program boundaries, such as support for children who need to care for parents who have a mental illness.

How do I get access to Disability Support?
