NDIS update from John Della Bosca: What's at risk this election

There are less than three weeks until Election Day and over 150 candidates are yet to pledge their support for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Let's cut to the chase.

There are less than three weeks until Election Day and over 150 candidates are yet to pledge their support for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

If any of them become a Member of Parliament in September, we have no guarantee they will champion the NDIS. Their support is crucial to ensuring the safety of the NDIS now and in the future.

Together we can ensure the NDIS is kept safe.

There are three things you can do right now to make sure your local candidates know there is no turning back from full implementation of the NDIS.

  • If you haven't already, register to be an election champion and sign up to protect the NDIS.
  • Write to your local candidates and ask to meet with them to confirm their support for the NDIS - once we have them on the record they can't go back on their word.
  • Register to hold an event in your local community for Every Australian Counts Day - this is the day when we will leave our leaders in no doubt that they can’t walk away from The Promise.

Every Australian Counts Day will be the last day of the election campaign. It will be the last chance to have our voices heard.

The NDIS must not slip off the agenda.

If we show all candidates hoping to represent their electorate in Parliament that support for the NDIS is only growing it will be harder and harder to go back on The Promise, made by our leaders, to fully implement the NDIS.

Will you register to hold an event in your community - no matter how big or small - and protect the NDIS now and for the future?

We've come this far, now there's no turning back.

Thanks for your support.

Yours,
John Della Bosca
