Villa Maria is building Victoria’s first purpose-specific residence for 10 young people with high level, complex care needs (all with Acquired Brain Injury), who are currently living in aged care nursing homes.
For some young people, managing the demands of school, peer pressure and community expectations are hard enough. Imagine the added pressure you would feel if you also had the responsibility of caring for someone in your family who was chronically ill.
Many of the residents of Villa Maria’s aged care homes have dementia. With a holistic approach to care, our aim is to enhance their physical and emotional wellbeing.
