Disability Services - Shared Supported AccommodationVilla Maria has 12 Shared Supported Accommodation Services across metropolitan Melbourne. Each service provides specialised, shared supported accommodation to adults with an intellectual, sensory, physical or neurological disability or Acquired Brain Injury. All of our houses are purpose-built, offer single bedrooms and are modified for wheelchair access. Experienced and qualified staff provide 24 hour direct care with sleepover or active night support. Flexible, personalised care and support is provided based on an individual's needs and in conjunction with their Person Centred Plan (PCP). The plans are tailored for each individual's needs and wishes and contain realistic objectives aimed at increasing independence and achieving lifestyle goals. These goals are based on the individual's skills and prepared in conjunction with each person and their family or advocate. Local community integration is encouraged as part of everyday life and individuals are supported to develop and maintain family connections and social relationships. Additional Support ServicesVilla Maria also offers Social Work, Pastoral Care and Carer Services to further enhance the quality of service delivery to people with disabilities and their families. FeesFees are payable to cover the cost of accommodation. Fees include rent, living expenses (groceries, utilities, household items etc) and a small component for replacement items. A fee for transport may be applicable. AccessLong-term accommodation is accessed through the Vacancy Coordination system managed by the Department of Human Services (DHS). People with a disability seeking accommodation are required to register on the Disability Needs Register. Contact your Regional DHS office for registration details.
