Villa Maria Rehabilitation Centre (Eastern Region)

The Villa Maria Rehabilitation Centre provides Allied Health services and rehabilitative group programs for older people and people with a disability living in the City of Knox and surrounding areas.
 

What services does the Villa Maria Rehabilitation Centre provide?

Allied Health services including: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, speech pathology, massage, dietetics, rehabilitation nursing and specialist medical rehabilitation consultation.

Service delivery in groups is based upon four objectives:

  • To improve physical performance
  • To empower the client to enable them to make informed healthy lifestyle choices
  • To provide clients with interaction opportunities with others with similar issues
  • To increase client knowledge of community resources 

Group programs have three streams:

  • Rehabilitation stream – including neck, shoulder, back, lower limb, movement, falls and balance, rehab exercise, strength training, pain management, aquatic physio, cognitive, intro to Tai Chi and intro to walking
  • Community stream – including Living Life, low and high community gym, speech communication group, pottery
  • Maintenance stream-movement
     

How do I get access to the Villa Maria Rehabilitation Centre?

A doctor's referral is required if entering rehabilitation or maintenance stream programs. For further information, contact the Client Liaison Officer on (03) 9800 7255 between the hours of 8.30am to 4.30pm, or email intake.wcrc@villamaria.com.au
 

How do I get to the Villa Maria Rehabilitation Centre?

The Villa Maria Rehabilitation Centre is located at 355 Stud Road, Wantirna South. Parking is available on site. Contact the Client Liaison Officer (03) 9800 7255 to enquire. We are also located close to public transport.
 

How much does it cost?

Fees charged are based upon whether clients attend individual and/or group therapy and start from $5.00.
 

What if I am a Veteran?

The Department of Veterans' Affairs does NOT pay for services provided at the centre and a fee still applies.
 

How is the Villa Maria Rehabilitation Centre funded?

The fees charged at the Villa Maria Rehabilitation Centre provide only a small amount of funding for the program. Other funds come from the Commonwealth Day Therapy Centres Program and from donations from the community.
